Berghuis is again Eredivisie's Player of the Month

Feyenoord Rotterdam right winger Steven Berghuis has been named the Eredivisie Player of the month (December). The Dutch player beat Oussama Assaidi (FC Twente) and Lennart Thy (VVV-Venlo) to the award.

The Eredivisie Player of the Month is determined on the basis of match data of Opta Sports. This years first Player of the Month was Hirving Lozano (PSV Eindhoven), followed by Steven Berghuis (Feyenoord Rotterdam) in September, Gastón Pereiro (PSV Eindhoven) in October and Zakaria Labyad (FC Utrecht) in November.

The 26-year-old Berghuis scored four times in four league matches last month, hitting braces against Roda JC Kerkrade (5-1), Sparta Rotterdam (0-7) and SC Heerenveen (1-1). Berghuis also managed to create 10 chances, 16 shots and one assist. You can see all player statics of Steven Berghuis here.

Angelino is Rookie of the Month

NAC Breda's left-back José Ángel Tasende - also known as Angeliño - has been named Eredivisie's Rookie of the month (December). This years first Rookie of the Month was Denzel Dumfries (SC Heerenveen), followed by Angeliño (NAC Breda) in September, David Neres (Ajax) in October and Donny van de Beek (Ajax) in November.

ABOUT THE ELECTION PLAYER OF THE MONTH

This season the Eredivisie CV and FOX Sports have chosen the 'Eredivisie Team of the season'. On the basis of match data statistics Opta Sports, players are individually assessed on the basis of 60 different statistics. From this result the best Player, Rookie and the Team of the Month arise. To be eligible players must have played at least two matches (150 minutes). The Rookie of the month may not be older than 21 years (at the start of the competition).
