Mattijs Manders leaves Eredivisie CV, Jan de Jong appointed interim CEO

Mattijs Manders will leave the Eredivisie CV as of June 1 2020. The current CEO accepted an offer from football club NAC Breda to become the club’s General Director. He will be replaced by Jan de Jong as interim CEO.

Mattijs Manders about his considerations: “After working at the Eredivisie CV for one year I decided to work at a beautiful club once more. I have taken this decision, despite of the interesting responsibilities I am having currently. The dynamics of a club with fans, players, partners, board members, municipalities and others feel more comfortable to me. This is a promising landscape where I can reach my full potential, especially in these troubling times. Obviously, I would like to thank the Eredivisie CV board, its partners and my colleagues, which whom I worked closely with, for their support and trust.

John Jaakke, chairman of the Eredivisie CV board: “It is a shame that Mattijs says goodbye. Knowing him, he did not take this decision lightly and we understand his considerations. Mattijs meant a lot to the Eredivisie CV in his time here. Especially during these difficult times where he played a connecting role. We wish Mattijs all the best at NAC Breda.”

Jan de Jong interim CEO

The board is pleased to announce that Jan de Jong has been found prepared to take over the role of CEO on interim basis. John Jaakke: “Given the situation in professional football, it is of great importance that we maintain continuity within the Eredivisie CV’s policy and operations. We are facing great challenges and clubs and other stakeholders must be able to count on the Eredivisie CV. With Jan de Jong we signed an experienced CEO that is very familiar with the world of media and professional football. The interim period runs for one year, starting on June 1st.”
