Ajax moved two points behind PSV after trashing ADO Den Haag

Ajax moved two points behind Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven after thrashing ADO Den Haag 5-1 at home on Sunday, with PSV facing Feyenoord later.

First-half goals from David Neres, Nicolas Tagliafico and Matthijs de Ligt put Erik ten Hag's men well in control.

But Den Haag captain Aaron Meijers pulled one back with a superb curling free kick in the 39th minute.

ADO's defence struggled to cope with the pressure in the second half, and it showed when Donny van de Beek was allowed to steal the ball in the box before slotting it in for his side's fourth in the 48th minute.

Substitute Kasper Dolberg made it 5-1 in the 83rd minute with a classy chip over Robert Zwinkels in ADO's goal.

Fourteen games into the season, Ajax have 37 points.
