FC Twente heading for relegation after 3-1 loss

FC Twente Enschede are heading for relegation from the Dutch Eredivisie after Feyenoord came away from their Grolsch Veste stadium with a 3-1 victory on Sunday.

After 18 minutes, Feyenoord took the lead through in-form Jean-Paul Boetius, who raced onto a Jens Toornstra pass before slotting the ball past Joel Drommel in the home goal

However, four minutes later, Brad Jones gifted Twente an equaliser as Adam Maher picked the ball off the Feyenoord goalkeeper before finishing into an empty net.

Feyenoord went back in front on 66 minutes when Steven Berghuis combined with Karim El Ahmadi before curling the ball into the net.

El Ahmadi then set up Nicolai Jorgensen to backheel in the third goal after 74 minutes, sealing the victory for Feyenoord.

With the win, Feyenoord move five points clear of Utrecht in fourth spot while Twente are rock bottom and have only four games to pull back the four-point gap on Sparta Rotterdam or they will be playing in the Eerste Divisie next season.
